Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide training throughout New Zealand?
Yes – we can arrange training in most parts of New Zealand to suit your business needs.
What are Soft Skills?
You will sometimes here us or others refer to soft skills these are personal attributes that enhance a persons daily interactions, job performance and career prospects. Unlike hard skills, which are about a persons skill set or ability to perform specific tasks or activity, soft skills are interpersonal and more broadly applicable.
Soft skills are often described by using terms often associated with personality traits, such as:

  • Integrity
  • Optimistic
  • Common sense
  • Responsibility
  • a sense of humor

Soft skills are abilities that can be practiced (but usually require the individual to genuinely like other people) such as:

  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Leadership
  • Empathy
  • Sociability

It’s often said that hard skills will get you an interview but you need soft skills to get, and keep, the job.

Why do I need to learn soft skills, I know my sector/industry?
Business and technical knowledge are essential but execution is equally important. And it takes soft skills to execute any idea that involves dealing with other people.
Do you have a venue or do you come to us at our facility?
We can do both. There are multiple venues that we partner up with throughout New Zealand; we can discuss your venue needs and find the best fit for you. Or we can bring our programs to your site, whatever works for you.
How many people can participate in a training session or day?
Participant numbers can vary depending on the session provided.

We do provide one-on-one training for specific needs.

Most group courses have a minimum of 8 participants (or minimum daily rate and a maximum of 15 participants), however, we are happy to discuss your needs and arrange smaller or larger sessions as required. Team building days can be arranged to cater for larger numbers.

Do you cater food for the events?
Yes – we can, or you can choose to provide this in-house.
Fortunately we don’t cook the food, but we work with local caterers to provide our participants with a selection of delicious food suitable for the event.
Can you provide support to a sole trader or small business?
Small business is my passion and I’ve been co-owner of a family run automotive business for more than 20 years alongside my roles in the health and community sector. I’m happy to meet with you and discuss your business needs. Sometimes just sitting down and concentrating on one area is enough to get things moving for your business. It could be improving your marketing approach or activities. Or coming in and doing a tidy up of your office so that you can save time and focus on your business. Give me a call I’m happy to see if what we can offer is right for you.
